We are delighted to announce that James Peck, Managing Director of P.X. Farms, was recognised at the 2025 CARAS Awards.
Held at the House of Lords on 14 October 2025, this distinguished event, organised by the Council for Awards of the Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS), celebrated the outstanding achievements of 32 trailblazers shaping the future of British food and farming.

The ceremony brought together leaders, innovators, and mentors from across the sector, honouring individuals who have gone above and beyond in advancing sustainable agriculture, supporting charities, and driving research and technology.
James’s award is a testament to his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence in British farming. As Al Brooks, Chairman of the English Panel, commented at the ceremony:

British Farming Leaders Honoured
On Tuesday, October 14th, The House of Lords, Westminster, opened its historic doors to celebrate the outstanding achievements of 32 trailblazers in the UK’s food and farming industry.
The prestigious event, hosted by The Rt Hon Lord Taylor of Holbeach PC CBE FRAgS, praised the recipients for their significant contributions to the sector in the presence of 100 fellows, associates and guests.
Organised by the English Panel of the Council for Awards of the Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS), the ceremony was a true celebration of the innovators, mentors and leaders who are shaping the future of British agriculture.
The awards highlight individuals who have gone above and beyond, driving change in sustainable agriculture, supporting charities, and pushing the boundaries of research and technology. From advancing traditional farming practices to taking on voluntary roles that
strengthen the sector, these honourees are transforming the industry for the better.
Speaking at the ceremony, Al Brooks FRAgS, Chairman of the English Panel, commended the recipients, saying:
“These 32 exceptional individuals represent the very best of British agriculture. Through their leadership and dedication, they have become ambassadors for our industry, exemplifying excellence in important areas such as climate change, animal welfare, farm safety, product
development and research as well as communicating farming’s message with the public.”
He added: “We are delighted to celebrate their achievements in such an iconic and historic British setting.”
The Rt Hon Lord Taylor of Holbeach PC CBE FRAgS also offered his congratulations:

The ceremony was a true celebration of the drive, passion and vision that continues to keep British farming at the forefront of global agriculture.
The Council for Awards of the Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS) recognises, through the Awards scheme distinguished achievement in agriculture and related land-based industries.
The Awards embrace not only practical farming and the development of new husbandry techniques, but also research, technology, economics, education, farming care, communication and administration.
A Fellowship (FRAgS) or Associateship (ARAgS) is a recognition of outstanding contribution by an individual to the understanding, efficiency and wellbeing of agriculture. There are currently over 395 English Fellows and 180 English Associates.
Associateship (ARAgS – Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies) is a recognition of significant contribution to the agricultural and land-based industries of the UK and is awarded to those who can demonstrate the required high level of achievement.
Fellowship (FRAgS – Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies) is the senior Award of the Council, Associates may be considered for advancement to Fellowship if they demonstrate continuing significant contribution to agricultural and rural progress in the UK.
Advancement is not automatic. Occasionally someone exceptional may be directly awarded by the Council.
Holders of ARAgS and FRAgS awards have been recognised across a wide range of activities. Recognising personal achievement in a professional capacity, and recipients are frequently individuals of influence within Agriculture. They range from practical farmers to academics, company directors, media practitioners, administrators, advisors and consultants.
